about
welcome to flairandsquare
My name is Alex Miller. This site is a space to share my life and work with my friends and colleagues. To share great resources, technical How To’s, blogging hints and tips, and various web tools I find.
I love music, good food, good wine, good design, fishing, cooking, reading, architecture, tinkering with tools, getting in the surf with my body board… my iPod, and anything Mac…

and finally, my work
I am currently working in education and innovation for North Coast Institute, TAFE NSW. The North Coast of NSW is a great place to live and TAFE is a great place to work. I started doing some teaching in the I.T. faculty and have just developed and grown from there. I have worked in the entertainment industry, tourism and hospitality and travelled quite a bit overseas (never enough though).
My current role involves supporting teachers with their e-Learning and technology needs (I work with the Learning Technology Team, check out our wiki and the team blog). I assist with resource development, building courses in the Moodle LMS. I work on various web projects, assist staff with funding applications, project management and I am often asked to run sessions on engaging generations X & Y.
I love exploring new and emerging technology and possible applications for teaching and learning. I am particularly interested in Second Life, Web 2.0 tools, social networking, mobile technology, RSS, moblogging, blogging and wiki tools.
