and finally, my work
I currently work for TAFE NSW as a ‘Learning Resource Development officer’, my job includes a lot of project management and instructional design as well as technology training. I am an administrator on our Moodle Learner Management System (LMS) and Equella Learning Content Management System (LCMS). My blog is my personal and professional learning journey. As part of my role, I am always exploring the use of technology and mobile devices in teaching and learning. This includes supporting people with disabilities in the educational environment via the use of assistive technologies (check out how).
In the past, my role was largely to support teachers with their e-Learning and technology needs (I worked with the infamous Learning Technology Team, check out the team blog). I was also asked to run sessions on engaging generations X & Y.
I love exploring new and emerging technologies and their possible application in education. I really enjoyed exploring Second Life during a project with the Australian Flexible Learning Network and see lots of potential to create more engaging learning experiences using Web 2.0 tools, I absolutely love collaborating and communicating in the social media space and firmly believe there are HUGE opportunities in this area.
So, find out how & why I made this blog.
