about the mill
this blog is about Spinner, the Miller and her Quern Stone…

My surname is Miller, my virtual (Second Life) name is Spinner, so it was fairly logical as a ‘Miller’ that I should have my own Quern Stone.
What’s a Quern Stone? Quern-stones have been used throughout the world to grind materials, the most important of which was usually grain to make flour for bread-making. I love that Quern Stones are made from igneous rocks. This reminds me of a line in my all time favourite movie.
daily grind?
Not quite, I’ll try to post regularly, maybe once or twice a week. I can’t promise daily!
about the ‘miller’
My name is Alex Miller. I love music, good food, good wine, web design, fishing, cooking, reading, tinkering with tools, getting in the surf with my body board… my iPod, my iMac, the MacBook Pro, the iPhone (I think/ I hope), iLife, iTunes…

what you will find on this site
The home page is my blog, my journal. I try to share both personal insights and work related information.
about the mill is this page, it’s about me, who I am and where I come from (well, I’m working on that!). There are secondary links here to my Second Life resources and to some music.
the quern stone contains information about how and why this blog was created. It also has some sub-links to the 31 day blog challenge journal and tasks and an example form created through the Web2.0 tool WuFoo.
What is a Quern Stone and why call my page that? Have you ever been to wikipedia?
While you’re here, you’ll also find some useful links and if you need a distraction, you’ve come to the right place (please help yourself to the recipes!)
