Dear Readers… who are you?
As you know, I have been participating in the 31 Day Blogging Challenge. The task for day 21 (yes, I’m ten days behind) included a great suggestion;
ask your readers to do some self promotion.
So… “I’d like to get to know you well…” (sing it)
As well as giving you the opportunity to promote yourself on this blog, I’d like to take the opportunity to get to know you, on a more… personal level. Yes, I’m going to ask you to share something personal with me.
If you’re not comfortable with that, then share something that you use to strengthen your networks, encourage collaboration and, or resource sharing. I’d love you to post a comment, include a link to your Flickr/Facebook or other social networking site…

If you use Flickr, I’d like to know more about how.
- Do you really utilise all the tools that this site offers?
- Do you use it for teaching and learning?
- How can we get the most out of this tool?
Thanks to JoKay, I recently discovered MOO. Moo loves to print beautifully designed products with the photos in your Flickr stream. For just $25 I got 100 funky little business cards printed using the images of my choice. I used five images of my avatar, Spinner Mills. Click below to see them on my Flickr space.

Hi Alex
I bared all (ahem) yesterday in Day 30 when I showed the world ‘mine.’ (Flickr, Twitter, Facebook etc). I was responding to the challenge of the day which was to review a social networking site I was unfamiliar with.
Great to hear those little Moo cards are available here. I thought they were probably n.hemisphere only. Neat.
MOO Cards are great! I want to get some soon… but remember to upload your Flickr photos in a higher resolution otherwise they won’t print well! I have to reupload all my pics because of that
You can check my myspace profile at myspace.com/noadware Whatever I do I always try to help others – on my profile as well even though much less than on my blog.
Friends that add me can read the bulletins I send – even though I do that very rarely. On profile I post advice but keep it fun to attract new friends
Hi Alex,
I teach secondary English at Suzhou Singapore International School in Suzhou, China, about 80km west of Shanghai. My previous international teaching has been in Morocco, Switzerland, Austria, and Holland, and I’ve also taught in Canada and the U.S.
I have two blogs. EricMacKnight.com is my professional home base, and GoodHabitsGoodStudents.com is based on my book, ‘Good Habits, Good Students’, which I self-published about a year ago.
I don’t know whether all that qualifies as ‘something personal’. How about this: I just discovered Cesaria Evora and can’t believe it took me until now.
Cheers,
Eric
Thanks for your comments everyone.
Wow Eric, you are well traveled. I am downloading some Cesaria Evora now, I’ll let you know what I thgink.
Kate, yes I did look at your Flickr pic’s, Great! I was born in England (something I like to keep quiet!)
Keep on blogging.
Alex
